Sketch writers from The Habit team up with Seattle Public Theater to create this holiday comedy perfect for those who like their Christmas entertainment with lots of action, 80s jokes, smooth soft rock jams, and snarky German terrorists.

Azam Kabiri, a recent immigrant, is excited to tell passersby about her life back in Iran as she waits for her luggage at an airport baggage carousel. As the luggage on the carousel starts to become strangely personal, Azam ponders what she is bringing with in her, and what she has left behind. Performed both in English and in Farsi, Where Is Here? / اینجا کجاست؟ is a stunning solo-show from the mind of playwright Naghmeh Samini that delves into the reality of the immigrant experience.

Letters From Max

An adaptation of the 2018 epistolary book, Letters from Max: A Poet, a Teacher, and a Friendship, "a resonant and profound contribution from two fully formed artists to the literature of illness" (Slate). This play shares letters and poems passed between Sarah Ruhl and her former student Max Ritvo, as he candidly discusses terminal illness and tests poetry's capacity to put to words what otherwise feels ineffable. Letters From Max premiered off-broadway in 2023 at Signature Theater in New York City.

SQUEEZE

UMO’s latest new work, SQUEEZE follows five individuals on a quest for connection, space, and freedom in a world constrained by fear, loneliness, scarcity, and greed. Award-winning playwright Trista Baldwin and the ensemble balance humor, pathos, and acrobatic physicality inspired by the clowning of Buster Keaton with the existential absurdism of Samuel Beckett. Using ladders and platforms, five characters and two stunning acrobats move through a series of vignettes that explore the issues of today’s world.
