Acting Auditions for Night Night, Roger Roger!

Seattle Public Theater and the Seattle Public Education Department are excited to announce youth auditions for Night Night, Roger Roger, written by Roni Ragone and directed by Jacqueline Meyners.

About the Show

"It’s midnight, but that doesn’t mean the world slows down. Night Night, Roger Roger is a fanciful comedy about the world after the sun goes down. Roller-skating Nanas, kids with tin cans, literary-obsessed vampires, clumsy security guards, kids without tin cans, quirky game show hosts and more. This play is a plea for every person to stop growing up so fast—take your moment with the universe and enjoy it."

Rehearsals will begin on June 21, 2026, and the show will run August 7-9th and 12th-15th, 2026

Who Should Audition

This show will feature an all teen cast (ages 14-18). All identities are welcome to audition, regardless of race/ethnicity, gender identity, disability, neuro-diversity, etc. All character genders in the play are suggested and are completely open to cross-gender/non-binary casting, so please feel free to audition for any part you are interested in.

Please note that this show features a cast size of 10 to 14 performers.

Seattle Public Theater is committed to anti-racist, anti-ableist, and anti-sexist practices and seeks to uproot and dismantle Industrial white Supremacy within the theatrical arts and our community. We strive to center the values of inclusivity and transparency in our casting process. Please visit our website to read more about our Anti-Racism commitments and feel free to reach out with questions.

How To Audition

Please please record yourself performing a monologue that best shows off your acting abilities. This can be any contemporary monologue of any genre. Your monologue should be no longer than 90 seconds max. You can perform a monologue that you already know or, if you prefer, you can choose one of the PROVIDED MONOLOGUES. The deadline for virtual submissions is Wednesday, May 13th at 5:00 pm.  If you have any questions or troubles with your submission, please reach out to casting@seattlepublictheater.org.

Once virtual auditions close, we will then hold in-person callbacks on Sunday May 17th.

Youth Tech Intern Application for Night Night, Roger Roger!

Seattle Public Theater and the Seattle Public Education Department are excited to announce youth tech intern applications for Night Night, Roger Roger, written by Roni Ragone and directed by Jacqueline Meyners.

Rehearsals will begin on June 21, 2026, and the show will run August 7-9th and 12th-15th, 2026. Some tech roles, like stage management, will be required to attend all rehearsals; others, like designers, will begin rehearsals during tech week, July 31st-August 2nd, and dress rehearsals, August 4-6th.  Some, but not all, tech roles will be working during the run of the show, as well.  All tech interns will be invited to attend weekly production meetings, which may start as early as June 1st.

Who Should Apply

The Youth Summer Production gives teens interested in technical theater the unique opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional designer and/or working theater technician. Teens will shadow their mentors, and may have the opportunity to design elements of the show themselves.  This is a great opportunity for interested technical theater students to gain hands-on experience and understanding of the professional theater process.

All tech interns must be between ages 14-18.  All identities are welcome and encouraged to apply, regardless of race/ethnicity, gender identity, disability, neuro-diversity, etc.

Please note that this show will have between 4 to 7 intern roles available. All tech interns will receive a $100 stipend.

How To Apply

Please fill out this form to the best of your ability.  If you would prefer to make a video discussing each of these questions, you may send that video to  education@seattlepublictheater.org  before the deadline.  The deadline for applications is Wednesday, May 13th at 5:00 pm.  If you have any questions or troubles with your submission, please reach out to education@seattlepublictheater.org.

Once virtual auditions close, we may schedule interviews to be held on Zoom.  If selected for an interview, interviews will take place during the week of May 17th-23rd.
