Rachel Delmar Teaching Artist

Recent Class: Cyrano de Bergerac

Rachel Delmar is so excited to be a Teacher Artist [as well as the Communications Manager] at Seattle Public theater. Rachel has been working on & off stage since she was 9 years old. She has worked around the country as an actor, director, poet, teaching artist, producer, & marketer. Her first stop, getting her degree & a very expensive crash course in how to make theatre at the University of Southern California. Through her company, Playing in Progress, she has spent the last 5 years in Seattle producing opportunities for playwrights, actors, directors, & artists to gather together and develop new work. Most notoriously through SnowGlobed [an evening of holiday inspired scenes & spectacles] that takes place every December – now in partnership with her other theatrical home, Forward Flux Productions. She loves working with students of all ages & skill sets, from preschool to the retirement home! She believes theatre can open up the world to people; creating empathy, unpacking fears, and catalyzing the change in ourselves & the world that we need now more than ever. Loves include cold brew coffee, karaoke, & destroying the patriarchy.
